JUDY CASTILLO

Hello, my name is Judith Castillo. I was born and raised right here in Texas, where I discovered my passion for education and community advocacy. I earned my bachelor’s degree in political science from Texas State University in 2006. In 2019, I achieved Double Master’s degrees—one in Spanish from Lamar University and another in Linguistics from the University of Salamanca, Spain—as well as a Certification in School Leadership from Lamar University in 2020. In 2024, I earned a Certification in Women’s Studies and currently writing my dissertation to complete a Ph.D. in Latino Studies with the University of Houston.

In 2016, I moved to Humble and joined the school district as a Spanish teacher. Since then, I have worked tirelessly to support the district’s mission of excellence. I developed a Spanish Placement Test, created curriculum modules for all foreign language courses, and provided professional development to support educators. Additionally, I have represented our district at state and national conventions, bringing valuable insights back to our community.

My work is rooted in empowering students, promoting and fostering an inclusive environment where every child can succeed. I believe in engaging parents as active partners in education, ensuring academic excellence for all, and prioritizing the safety and well-being of every student.

This May 2025, I ask for your vote for Humble ISD Trustee. Together, we can continue to build a district that inspires students, supports educators, and unites our community.

I’m just an Educator with a deep passion & commitment to making a difference in Humble. Let’s make it happen together!
